The purpose of the not-for-profit Association is to assist members to become successful through knowledge of the existing laws, codes, and procedures related to property ownership and management and to protect the interests and investments of our members. Our goal is to help each other be successful through the sharing of information.

The property owners and managers of the Wayne County Landlords Association pledge themselves to honor the following Code of Ethics:

We will act fairly and reasonably in our dealings with tenants, and treat tenants with honesty and dignity.

The Board of Directors shall consist of the Board of Officers and four or five additional Active Members, one of which may be an Associate Member. A maximum of nine votes will be allotted to the BOD constituency.

A quorum at any general or special meeting shall consist of ten five percent of the Active Members or ten Active members, whichever is greater.

We will strive to provide our tenants with safe, clean and functional housing, and will adhere to all safety related codes.

We will stringently practice fair housing policies as provided by law.

We will respond promptly to tenant requests for service and assistance.

We will strive to keep ourselves informed of and abide by applicable laws and regulations.

We will be responsible, and encourage our tenants to be responsible, to our properties' neighbors. We will strive to maintain our properties so they contribute to the neighborhoods in which they are located.

We will act fairly in all matters regarding security deposits; make only those deductions which are fair; and return security deposits as promptly as possible.

We will work to serve the community in which we live and do business.
